This museum was started in 1980 in the baggage room of the 1905 Tryon Railroad Station after a concerted community effort to save the old depot. The Museum has over 500 artifacts now covering a great expanse of Tryon, Polk County, and American history. The Museum’s treasures include artifacts from the Cherokee Indians, early settlers, the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and both World Wars.

The museum is located at 22 Depot Street in Tryon. Call (828) 859-2287 for more information.
