The museum, located in the National Register of Historic Places-Farmville Historic District, chronicles the cultural and commercial heritage of Farmville and Western Pitt County from colonial times to the present. The May Museum is housed in a home built circa 1854 and interprets the area’s history through both permanent exhibits and special programs, which are offered periodically throughout the year. It is home to an extensive collection of 19th and 20th century quilts, which are displayed on a rotating basis. May Museum is located at 3802 South Main Street in Farmville and is open 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday. Group tours are by appointment. Call 252-753-6725.
