Located in the historic “Kitchin House”, the one-time residence of the former North Carolina Governor W.W. Kitchin, the Person County Museum of History preserves the cultural heritage of the county. Also part of the museum complex are the Male Academy/Parsonage, Woodsdale General Store, Dr. John H. Merritt’s office, a tobacco barn, and the Van Hook Subscription School, which is believed to be the oldest in the state.

Guided tours are conducted Tuesday through Saturday 10 am to 2 pm and other times by appointment. There is an admission charge. For more information, call 336-597-2884 or email pcmuseum@roxboro.net.
