This park is "dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community by providing a unique blend of ecology, cultural and natural history programs." A natural and historic city park, it is located along a two-mile stretch of the scenic and unspoiled Eno River. The park provides natural and cultural history programs and seasonal special events. West Point on the Eno has a working Grist Mill, the 1850’s McCown-Mangum House, and the Hugh Mangum Museum of Photography. These historic buildings are open 1 - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 10 - December 16. Admission is free. Weekday tours of the buildings can be arranged in advance by calling 471-1623.
