Old Gilliam Mill

Located on Big Pocket Creek, the mill was built by Howell and John Gilliam in 1856. It is one of the largest grist and cotton mills in Central North Carolina.

This old mill is located on Highway 42 West in Sanford. In addition to the mill, visitors can see a saw mill and an old kiln on the property. For information on visiting the mill contact Worth Pickard at (919) 776-3196.
