This historic home’s architecture along with its cemetery shows the “important historical associations which ally it with the most prominent Highland Scots families in the upper Cape Fear region.” Built in the late 18th century by John Gilchrist (1740 - 1802), it is one of the few remaining houses known to have been built by an immigrant Highland Scot.

The Mill Prong House is located on Edinborough Road, off Hwy 401, approximately five miles northeast of Wagram, NC in Raeford, NC. Guided tours of the home are provided several times a year and appointments are available. Contact Blake Tyner at bbtyner@carolina.net for more information.
