Located about 10 miles from their original reservation, the Meherrin Indian Tribe maintains its tribal traditions and heritage by celebrating with an annual Pow-wow. School demonstrations and performances are held and students learn about Meherrin Indian culture and witness demonstrations such as pottery, beading, and dancing.
