Located near Summerfield, NC, Lake Higgins is a 280-acre municipal reservoir. The Taylor Turner Hatchery Pond, nurturing catfish and trout, is located there. The Environmental Center has a classroom where various models of the fish and wildlife found at the lake and surrounding area are featured. Programs are given by park rangers who take students on nature trails and discuss the plants and the animals that can be found in the area. Call 336-643-4295 for information.
