Located at 131 West Main Street in Dallas, NC, the museum holds in trust for current and future generations over 5,000 objects, 20,000 documents, and over 400,000 photos which span the period from the 1500s through the 20th Century. "Real objects - from a baseball uniform to spinning frame; ID badge to cotton bale; from company script to cog-wheel wagon - will connect visitors to the vibrant history associated with textile manufacturing." Organized groups are invited to enjoy guided tours and educational programs. Tours and most programs are free and based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Groups are urged to schedule tours at least one week in advance. Programs offered include:

  • Let’s Build A County Seat
  • Gaston County in the 19th Century
  • Victorian Winter Holidays
  • High Seas to High Shoals
  • Textile Week Outreach

The museum is open Tuesday thru Friday from 10am - 5pm, Saturday from 1 - 5pm and every 1st Sunday from 2 - 5pm. For more information about exhibits, programs and events, call the 24-hour info-line at (704)922-7681, #2.
