This fifteen-acre Environmental Park includes a demonstration farmyard with a variety of domestic livestock, as well as natural habitat exhibits of native wild animals. Students can learn about carnivorous plants at the bog garden and about culinary and medicinal herbs at the herb garden. Indoor exhibits show the biological and geological diversity of North Carolina, provide interactive physical science activities, and explain the physics of music.

The TechWorks exhibit highlights technological innovations made in the Winston-Salem area, from pharmaceuticals to fiber optics. HealthWorks is another interactive experience that fosters a greater understanding of the human body, as well as the role of technology in medicine. The planetarium offers shows for various age groups.
