"The finest concentration of American art in a public collection south of Washington… Masterpieces of American art are displayed in this gracious American country home built in 1912-17 by Katharine Smith and Richard Joshua Reynolds, founder of the tobacco manufacturing company. Accredited by the American Association of Museums, it features special exhibitions and education programs attracting national attention. The Reynolda House has also been named to the National Register of Historic Places."
