Located on 85 acres where Cross Creek meets the Cape Fear River The Cape Fear Botanical Garden has wildflowers, nature trails, perennials, native plants, an open pavilion, a variety of specialty gardens, an urban forest, and several resting spots including picnic tables. The garden also features an authentic 1886 farmhouse, tobacco barn, smokehouse and general store surrounded by a Heritage Garden and homeowner demonstration garden.

The Garden is a N.C. Environmental Education Center and an approved Cumberland County Field Trip Destination. The educational programs are developed following state curriculum guidelines and are a strong outdoor complement to the classroom experience. A visit to the Garden will motivate anyone at any age to examine important environmental concepts.

Tours are available for all adults and children and cover a variety of topics. A knowledgeable Garden Guide Volunteer will present the tour.
