The East Carolina Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society restores and operates the The New Hope Valley Railway at the North Carolina Railroad Museum in Chatham County, NC. The museum is primarily an outdoor exhibit of historic and heritage railroad equipment. Participants can also learn to operate a locomotive. Group ride trains operate the third Friday of every month from May to November and must be booked in advance.
