The Chatham County Historical Association and the Chatham County Agricultural and Industrial Fair Association are working together to reconstruct two log houses in Pittsboro. Both log houses will be available for supervised tours by appointment. School classes especially are welcome to visit these examples of early pioneer life, and programs are being planned to demonstrate early American crafts such as weaving, splitting shingles, making soap, candle making, and similar activities. Contact the historical society at history@chathamhistory.org for more information.
