Chatham County Historical Association Log Cabin Restoration Project
Visit the two log cabins that are being reconstructed by the Chatham Country Historical Association. Not only will students see how these structures were built, they will be able to see what life was like back in the days of the pioneers.

The Chatham County Historical Association and the Chatham County Agricultural and Industrial Fair Association are working together to reconstruct two log houses in Pittsboro. Both log houses will be available for supervised tours by appointment. School classes especially are welcome to visit these examples of early pioneer life, and programs are being planned to demonstrate early American crafts such as weaving, splitting shingles, making soap, candle making, and similar activities. Contact the historical society at: history@chathamhistory.org for more information.
