Cleveland County Historical Museum
Students will learn about the early days of Cleveland County and will see artifacts and other exhibits at this historical museum.

Built in 1907, this Classic Revival courthouse is the only structure on the “court square” in Shelby and has a true compass orientation. The geodetic center of Shelby is denoted by a 1″ square of marble imbedded in the central hallway of this structure. Museum exhibits depict early life in Cleveland County; Collector’s Corner; community exhibits; and Living History Program.
