This website feature a brief account of the historical Battle of Alamance in 1771 when “an armed rebellion of backcountry farmers, called Regulators, battled against royal governor William Tryon’s militia.”

Also find information about the battlefield as it exists to and available activities. Visitors can tour the eighteenth-century Allen House and battlefield monument. These features, together with the visitor center’s multimedia orientation program, offer a vivid account of this colonial battle, as well as the pressures of colonial policies that precipitated the revolt.
