This wonderful outdoor classroom provides an ideal setting for students to learn about the importance of creating and sustaining animal habitats as well as native trees and plants. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina students will be able to participate in programs that will spark their interest in the natural world.

The Ecostation is a new facility and field trip programming is being added. Beginning in April 2006, Prairie Ridge Ecostation is offering a two-hour program for 4th and 5th grade classes. Class size should range from 15 to 30 students. Students will explore the site and learn about adaptations and interdependence by performing bird identification and pond sampling activities. The experience will wrap up with an introduction to nature journaling. All materials are provided. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy after the program. The fee per class is $70. To make a reservation, contact Barbara Beaman at 919.733.7450 ext. 610 or send email to barbara.beaman@ncmail.net.
