Using research, education and outreach programs, North Carolina Sea Grant make connections between university researchers and the people, businesses and governments concerned with coastal and marine resources. In general the topics briefly introduced and resources provided on this website address aquaculture, coastal community development, coastal hazards, fisheries, law and policy, seafood science and technology, and water quality.

Perhaps of most interest to marine science educators is the Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence – SouthEast (COSEE) portion of the website. This section provides information about upcoming workshops, marine science and environmental education curriculum development, research opportunities and grants, and field trips. There is also a listing of educational publications available for a very small cost.
