Named for Colonel William Walton Stevens, a conservation leader, and his wife Emily Stevens for their support and philanthropy, the Stevens Nature Center at Hemlock Bluffs provides information about the natural history of the area and the plants and animals that live in the Nature Preserve.
Hemlock Bluffs Park has over 2 miles of nature trails and is named for the hemlock trees that are usually only found in the mountains of the state. The Stevens Center was designed to blend in with this natural area. Classes, hands-on displays, and special programs help students to understand and appreciate this special natural area in Cary, North Carolina.
