Located in the renovated Old Wilkes County Courthouse, the Wilkes County Heritage Museum has exhibits that cover all aspects of the county. From stories of Daniel Boone to Junior Johnson’s race car, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Each room of the museum has a special interpretive exhibit. Topics covered are medicine and health, communications, transportation, county government, education, religion, lifestyle, and art, literature, and entertainment.

The museum is located at 202 Bridge Street in Wilkesboro and is open Tuesday - Saturday 10-4, and is closed Sunday and Monday. Call (336) 667-3171 for information about a tour.
