- Lesson plan: Animal adaptation This lesson focuses on the adaptations, body structures, and behavior of animals. The students will explore animal growth and adaptations of animals. This lesson is designed to be taught during the reading of Stone Fox.

- Educational in Nature A series of environmental education curriculum supplements designed to foster understanding and environmental awareness in the classroom. These activities, games, lesson plans, and information cover such topics as forests, animals, recycling, and energy.

Located 30 minutes from Winston-Salem in King, North Carolina, Camp Hanes offers environmental education classes which correspond to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Each program balances academic and recreational activities and are lead by "trained professionals who facilitate the learning experience through hands-on lessons, group work and fun activities that lead to open discussions."
