Take your students to Crowder District Park for an environmental education program offered by Wake County. Park naturalists offer interpretive, hands-on environmental programs covering a variety of subjects. For those who cannot visit the park, they will come out to the classroom to deliver an environmental lesson. The park also has a Discovery Box program. “Discovery boxes are packaged lessons available to teachers and parents that can be performed without a park educator. Each box contains background information as well as instructions on how to perform the lesson.” Topics include water pollution, plants and animals, camouflage, seeds, birds, and hunting.

For more information regarding environmental education, including scheduling programs, contact the park office at 919-662-2850.
