A collaborative venture of The Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County and The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, ImaginOn brings together the arts, education, and learning in this facility which is actually much more than a library/theatre.

The theater program areas include “MainStage productions, Tarradiddle Players, the professional touring company, Community Involvement Program, and a full scope of classes for both community and schools. The Children’s Theatre also works in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, with programs that address important issues in the lives of young people, such as substance abuse and relationship violence.” The library provides story times, classes, and lends books and movies to the public. Interactive games and exhibits make this a truly exciting place to visit.

Field trip programs are available for students of all ages. Storytimes, Children’s theater workshops, technology workshops, and Studio 1 animation tours are just some of the programs offered to Pre-K to Secondary students. There are fees for some programs. See the Teacher Section for more information.
