Located near Pittsboro, NC, the Screech Owl Farm School offers “environmental life-skills and Farm Ecology education through a variety of programs to students of all ages.”

Screech Owl Farm School provides a K-5 curriculum to augment and bookend field trips to local area farms. Each unit is a minimum of five one-hour lessons focused on a specific NC Standard Course of Study goal in Science or Social Studies, with extension activities to pick and choose among as time allows.

The entire curriculum is available on CD as a part of a kit which can be ordered from American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC), their partner and the grant-home on the curriculum project known as Noah’s Ark Today (NAT). The hands-on materials include wool and farm feed samples, farm animal models, a drop spindle, feathers, wooden eggs, a script for the slideshow, a deck of rare breed playing cards and more. Contact the school for purchase information at farm@screechowl.com.
