• Human Anatomy at EnchantedLearning.com This project provides "label me" printouts for human and cell anatomies, da Vinci human body proportions, and a tooth anatomy quiz. There are also labeled diagrams and answers to the "label me" printouts provided.
• Investigate and Report on Animal Adaptations Walks students in grades 3-6 through a research process from coming up with an animal to investigate in their local area to an observation sheet on which to record their findings to suggestions and a worksheet on reporting their research.

• Lesson plan: The Bear Who Wouldn't Sleep Intermediate-level ESL students will apply facts from a content-based reading passage to create a short story about a bear who doesn't hibernate with his family.
• Lesson plan: American black bear The students will examine the structural characteristics, behavior, and habitat of the American Black Bear necessary for survival.
• Lesson plan: From seed to plant This lesson will give students an opportunity to learn about seed parts, how a plant grows, and to compare plants.
• Lesson plan: Ecosystem problem solving Students will apply their knowledge of ecosystems and the interdependence of plants and animals to creatively solve problems.

Legal

This hands-on science and health center was developed with the needs of the citizens of Northeastern North Carolina in mind. Most of the programs, which are aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, are available all year round and others are seasonal. Port Discover is also available to come on-site to present these programs. They also offer Second Saturday Science each second Saturday of the month, through May.

Port Discover is located at 613 East Main St. in Elizabeth City. Their hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Call 252-338-6117 or send email to lspendergraft@mail.ecsu.edu for program information, pricing and to make a reservation.

Port Discover is a provisional associate of Grassroots Science Museum Collaborative (grassroots-science.org) , a consortium of 25 North Carolina science centers working together to improve science education.
