Founded in 1991, the Carolinas Aviation Museum is operated by the Carolinas Historic Aviation Commission (CHAC). Dedicated to preserving the aviation heritage of both North and South Carolina, the Museum is located at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport at 4108 Airport Drive. It is the premier aviation museum in the Carolinas.

Over the past decade the Museum has developed an impressive collection of over 45 major aircraft, and a wealth of other artifacts. It also operates one of the largest aviation-related libraries in the nation.

The Museum is open from 10am to 4pm Tuesday through Friday, Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 1pm to 5pm. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children & senior citizens. Children under 6 are free. Large groups need to arrange for a tour by calling 704-359-8442. Active duty military personnel with a valid military ID are admitted free of charge.
