Study the photo carefully for a few minutes and complete the questions listed below. Make sure you use evidence from the photo to support your answers when needed.

  1. List the objects you see in the photo such as people, buildings, and animals.
  2. List any activities you see taking place in the photo such as farming, commerce, travel, or leisure activities.
  3. Describe the types of buildings you see in the photo.
  4. Describe any land or water features you see such as lakes, rivers, mountains, etc.
  5. If there are any people in the photo, describe the clothing they are wearing. Is it traditional/native, modern, or similar to clothing you have seen?
  6. What challenges to transportation do you see these people having today and in the future?
  7. How do you think these people have adapted to living in an urban area or rural area? (Urban = city, rural = countryside or farming region)
  8. Based on your descriptions and study of population, what challenges do you see people in the picture possibly having related to geography?
  9. How do you think the people who live in this area may be affected by population growth or decline in the future?
