After completing the worksheet Photo Analysis: Focus on Geography for two photos of different regions, complete the questions below. Use evidence from the photos as well as your previous answers to help you.

  1. What similarities do you see between the two photos? Give specific examples. (Note things such as geographic features, houses, transportation, plant material, etc.)
  2. What differences do you see between the two photos? Remember to look for the not-so-obvious differences as well.
  3. Do you think life would be more or less difficult in one area photographed than the other? Why? Explain your answer.
  4. What are some challenges you think both of the geographic regions face?
  5. How do you think possible changes in the earth’s climate will impact the regions pictured?
