James Philippart
James Philippart has been teaching for 11 years, and he has taught grades 7-12 in many diffferent areas of social studies. Currently he is a 7th grade social studies teacher and Technology Facilitator at Kernersville Middle School. He has a BS degree in history and sociology from Appalachian State University, and an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from UNCG.

- In this lesson for grade seven, students learn about the Three Gorges Dam in China and the controversy surrounding its construction. Students will take on the roles of people whose lives may be affected by the dam, and will participate in a debate about it.
