Linda Tabor graduated from Indiana University with an A.B. degree in history. She earned National Board Certification in 1997 while teaching eighth grade social studies and language arts in the Watauga County Schools. Ms. Tabor holds certifications in social studies, language arts, and special education as well as an endorsement for AIG. She taught for the Department of Defense in Yokohama, Japan, and Naples, Italy, and was named DOD Teacher of the Year in 1985. In 2002, she received the North Carolina Citizen Education Teacher Award in Watauga County. She has participated in the Florida Humanities Council’s Super Summer Seminar, “Between Columbus and Jamestown,” and in the Thomas Day Education Project in North Carolina. Ms. Tabor is an alumna of the North Carolina Teachers Institute program and attended the 2005 Cherokee seminar and the 2006 Lumbee seminar.
