Dianne Harlow is currently an Assistant Principal in a charter school in Wilson, North Carolina, with 17 years of teaching experience from grades K through 8. She has taught general curriculum as well as serving as an assistant band director and music teacher.

As of November 2007, she is working with newly qualified teachers and experienced teachers on using Arts Integration to enhance their lessons. She believes that through all the facets of the art world the curriculum can come alive for a child, allowing all learners the chance for success.

Freedom with Harriet: Life on the Underground Railroad
This lesson for grades 6–8 will help students understand the experiences of slaves in the South who sought freedom via the Underground Railroad. Students will analyze a painting and create a living tableau that reflects the issues and emotions the painting evokes.
