Greg Mitchell is a science instructor and 2005 Kenan Fellow at Durham School of the Arts, a public magnet school for grades 6-12, where he has been teaching biology and earth/environmental science to heterogeneously grouped classes since 2003. Mr. Mitchell received his B.S. in biology from Duke University in 2000 and his Master of Arts in Teaching from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2003.

Wife inheritance and the AIDS epidemic in Africa
When an African man dies, it is the responsibility of his brother to inherit his widow. This has become a key factor in the spread of the AIDS virus. This plan looks at this tradition and the AIDS epidemic in African countries and students will discuss possible solutions in a Paideia seminar.
