Barbara Lapointe is a librarian who has worked in elementary schools in Canada. She also founded the Pet Foster Network to help fourteen local animal rescue groups and county shelters to recruit as many foster homes as possible in Durham, Chatham, Orange, and Wake counties, N.C.

Students examine the benefits of pet adoption. Students will learn about the responsibilities associated with pet ownership and how to make a good match between pets and potential owners.
