Sydney Brown was a research assistant for LEARN NC from 2002 to 2003 and now teaches at Gardner-Webb College. While in the Ph.D. program in Culture, Curriculum, and Change at UNC-Chapel Hill, she also served as the coordinator for the Curriculum, Music, and Community Project.

Sydney grew up in Western North Carolina and has seven years of public school teaching experience (primarily in kindergarten and first grade).
