I have taught theatre for 18 years at Avery County High School. I was State Director for the North Carolina Thespian Society for 6 years. I am past Secretary and past President of the North Carolina Theatre Conference and past State Representative and past Secretary of the Southeastern Theatre Conference.
I am the only theatre teacher at Avery High and offer the following classes: Theatre Arts I and II; Technical Theatre I and II; Play Production and Speech.
We produce two major shows each year, a musical in the fall and a drama/comedy in the spring.
I am certified in Theatre, Music and Elementary Education.

An introduction to Stanislavski's method
This lesson plan provides basic guidelines of the Stanislavski system. Exercises are offered to help the student to think creatively and apply this plan to develop their own acting techniques. This plan can be introduced in one class period and practiced throughout the term. Follow these exercises with improvisation. It will help students focus and begin to think on their feet. This plan deals with concentration.
