I teach eighth grade science and social studies at Brevard Middle School in Transylvania County, NC. I have taught for five years, all five of them in 8th grade. I came up with the idea for this lesson after working with Ned Steadman at our high school to help correlate our curriculum to the high school sciences. He suggested working with gumdrops to build molecules, and I took the idea from there!
