Luwonna Ellis Oakes is a reading specialist with Davie County Schools. Before that she spent 11 years teaching in the kindergarten and first grade area. She leads staff development in the Northwest Region and is a First Steps Trainer (intervention with one-to-one tutoring for at-risk first graders).

Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate!
Using chocolate as a theme, students will become involved in reading, writing, math, word study/spelling and other developmentally appropriate (integrated) activities. The unit includes centers for the classroom along with whole group activities.
