Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium
A consortium of state and national education agencies and organizations focused on the preparation, licensure, and professional development of teachers. INTASC is guided by the belief that student learning standards should drive the preparation and development of teachers.
Additional information
INTASC standards describe the knowledge, skills, and dispositions teachers should possess when beginning their careers. Its primary goal is for teachers to integrate content knowledge with the strengths and needs of students so that all students learn at high levels. In North Carolina, teachers align personal growth plans with the following INTASC standards:
