- research cycle
- Research method that emphasizes information problem-solving and positions students as information producers (versus information consumers). Students repeatedly revisit stages in the research cycle as they refine data gathering processes.
- Response to Intervention
- Response to Intervention (RTI) is a multi-tiered model designed to combine assessment and intervention to maximize student behavior. Using RTI, schools identify students who may be at risk for learning or behavior difficulties and monitor the students' progress.
- Rett Disorder
- A syndrome found almost exclusively in girls where they begin to develop on target, but later lose communication skills, movement, and coordination.

- The clustering of vowels and consonants after the initial consonant sound or sounds of a word.

- Cooperative learning model in which each team member writes one answer on a piece of paper that is passed around a table. Considered highly effective with creative writing and brainstorming activities.

- A scoring guide for evaluating student work made up of definitions of quality work, well-defined criteria for measuring quality work, and a scoring method (using numbers or descriptive language such as excellent, good, etc.) to indicate level of performance.
