- In full bloom
- This mini-unit uses the wonderful story of Miss Rumphius by Barbara Clooney. Miss Rumphius travels to faraway places and makes the world more beautiful by planting her favorite seeds. The book sets the stage for activities relating to core curriculum objectives to be implemented into the learning environment, using technology tools and applications to create student products.

- Paint Tools & Geometric Figures
- This lesson is meant to teach or review for third grade students the use of "Paint" tools. These tools are generic to many multimedia tools such as "HyperStudio" and "Kid Pics." For the student who is unfamilar with "Paint," it provides another tool of expression and illustration.
This lesson is also designed to reinforce geometry math skills. This ability to illustrate a three dimensional object on a flat one dimensional surface is important to enable the student to visualize geometry math problems. - Format: lesson plan (grade 3 Computer Technology Skills and Mathematics)
- By Barbara Waters.
- Tour the United States via HyperStudio Stacks
- Students will combine classroom, library and computer lab time to research and construct knowledge about the 49 states. Students do not do their home state which is why only 49 states are used. Students will use their new research knowledge and the resources provided to construct a HyperStudio stack on their assigned state.
- Format: lesson plan (grade 3 Social Studies and Computer Technology Skills)
- By Karl Schaefer.
