Students apply their knowledge of how to find specific information about a topic on the Internet using an outline created by the class prior to the lesson. Using this outline, the students will create a chronological timeline of the artist's life on MSPublisher.

Computer literacy in the ESL classroom: An introduction to formatting
Word processing software is used to create and print documents. English as a second language middle school students (with an intermediate level of English proficiency) will be introduced to the advantages of word processing with emphasis on text formatting features in Microsoft Works. Both independent and group work is included in the activities.

ACC basketball
The students will use ACC basketball statistics to practice the process of converting fractions to decimals then to percents and will learn how to create and edit a spreadsheet. They will then use this spreadsheet to analyze their data. This unit is done during the basketball season.
