Integrating the internet into the curriculum: Jan Brett author study
Jan Brett's books will be used to integrate technology into different areas of the curriculum. The seven activities will each take about 30 minutes depending on the class. The highlight of the author study will be the design of a class multimedia presentation.

Bulletin board of story elements
This lesson will introduce young children to the elements of stories starting with characters. Children will be involved with interactive writing as they respond to shared reading lessons. Students will illustrate a caption of a character to be displayed on a bulletin board.

Animal adjectives
Students will describe animals as they review nouns and verbs associated with these animals. They will learn to use adjectives as they describe the animals. They will use this knowledge to write their stories about animals.

Gingerbread Man Fun
This lesson will allow students to demonstrate sense of beginning, middle, and end of a story. They will also use various objects to create patterns comparing these objects using appropriate vocabulary (small, medium, large).
