Practicum in Online Teaching - Carolina Online Teacher Program
Teach your online course with a pilot group of students or teachers. An experienced online-learning mentor will guide you through typical problem areas. The Practicum in Online Teaching may be done in conjunction with your school or county, and even as part of your normal teaching load.

Gaps in standardized achievement measures between students from different racial and ethnic groups and between students from poor and non-poor families. Research shows a significant gap between the performances of African-American, Latino/a, Native American, and low-income students and their white, Asian, and economically advantaged peers.
student teams achievement divisions
Learning model in which teams are arranged after a teacher-led lesson. Team members tutor one another, but take individual quizzes, and the team evaluation is based on individual scores.

Communities In Schools of Wake County: “Just passing isn’t good enough!”
The educators of Communities In Schools (CIS) of Wake County, after ascertaining that the average grade of their middle school students was low D to F, determined to change their program drastically. They researched programs across the country that demonstrated success with students with profiles similar to those of CIS students, hired an education consulting company to help them establish measurement matrices, and instituted a range of new policies and activities. As a result, CIS students’ grades improved to C in just six months.
