If you have a question, the library is the Very Best Place to Start! Some libraries offer an online reference service, so if you have searched local and online resources yourself and you still need help finding an answer, you can get a librarian to help. The Library of Congress offers this service on the Ask a Librarian site.
For most categories you get a form to submit your information request. Answers may take five business days. In the Library of Congress collections categories (like American Memory Historical Collections and Learning Page) as well as Current Events and Science, there is an option for live chat with a librarian.
The Library of Congress serves Members of the Congress first, but also meets the needs of the government, other libraries, and members of the public. The Library's staff will respond to reference and information requests as they are able. This is just one of the Library of Congress' Virtual Programs and Services
